The easiest roast I've ever made

I made a roast today in my crockpot. It was super easy and turned out great. Here’s how I did it:

One English roast (shoulder roast)
1 pkg. Italian dressing mix
1 pkg. Ranch dressing mix
1 pkg. brown gravy mix
1 onion, chopped
1 can beef broth

Mix everything in crockpot. Cook on low for 8 hours until falling-apart tender.

This was the easiest roast I’ve ever made, and it made its own gravy. When I got home from work, I made a couple of sides, and we were eating dinner by 6:15.

I love that quote, I loved that movie, I love Bette Midler!

Your roast sounds devine? Does a shoulder roast taste different than chuck roast? I've never had one. I'm so sick of pot roast I could die and guess what's sitting in my fridge? I'm going to attempt to turn it into stroganoff tomorrow. Wish me luck!

Gosh I've missed visiting with you, my computer decided to cooperate today so I'm trying to get in as much as I can.

I hope you feel better very soon, take care, God bless and great big hug,
Vikki

You're right, Wayne, and it was even better the second day...

Hey Vikki -

I know, me too! I've had that quote up for awhile, but didn't know if people were familiar with it (especially without the reference). I don't think there's a whole lot of difference in the taste of chuck vs. shoulder; I think shoulder roasts have a bit more fat...of course it depends on the cow. :-)

I've missed you too! Good luck with your strogonoff.
